ABSTRACT |
Five species of Hincksia, H. secunda(Kutzing) Silva, H. sandriana (Zanardini) Silva, H. ovata (Kjellman) Silva, H. granulosa (J. E. Smith) Silva, and H. mitchelliae(Harvey) Silva were studied morphotaxonomically with field materials. The former four species were described for the first time in Korea. H. secunda was characterized by unilaterally secund branches and adaxially arranged ovoid to irregular cubical plurilocular sporangia. H. sandriana was distinguished by small fine thallus, sparsely alternative or secund branches, and ovoid plurilocular sporangia arranged adaxially in 3-8 series on branches. H. ovata was by dense opposite branches, and oppositely arranged ovoid plurilocular sporangia on branches. H. granulosa was by tough thallus, completely corticated lower filaments, opposite branches with long intervals, and adaxially arranged ovoid plurilocular sporangia on short branches. H. mitchelliae was distinguished by unilateral adaxial branches, straight cylindrical plurilocular sporangia arranged adaxially 2-5 in series on branches.
