ABSTRACT
Field observations of Pelvetia siliquosa plants were given at monthly intervals on the western coast of Korea with implications for taxonomy and distribution. Plant length and wet weight were closely related to the occurrence of receptacles, all of which had a peak in August. The fusiform receptacles known as a discrimental character of the species were found at a low frequency throughout the year. The other morphometric features showed a wide range of variation even within a single population.
